iKleinBlue
In the 1950s, Yves Klein engineered a new color.
This color, named International Klein Blue, was so pure and so intense that the only way it could be experienced short of looking at pure powdered ultramarine pigment was through artworks made with a special paint medium patented by Klein.
iKleinBlue is my attempt at carrying some of Klein's genius into the 21th century. This endeavor started out as a simple iPhone app displaying a blue screen. My research into Klein's work led me to experiment with real pigments and paint mediums to make the icon for the app. The app and the artworks pictured on this site are the results.
Note: Apple has rejected this app for distribution.
